Pre-orders have opened for the print editions of contemporary romance The Gentlest Woman in the Universe (宇宙第一温柔, pinyin: yuzhou diyi wenrou) by Ye Se (叶涩), originally serialised as She Dotes Crazily on Her Wife (宠妻狂魔, pinyin: chongqi kuangmo), and showbiz romance Seeking the Light (寻光, pinyin: xun guang) by Z Lu (Z鹿), originally serialised as Salieri and Mozart (萨列里与莫扎特, pinyin: salieli yu mozhate). Both of these are mainland Chinese publications, so will be in simplified Chinese and censored.
The Gentlest Woman in the Universe is an age-gap romance between CEO Su Qin and Xiao Fengqian, a rural girl whom she sponsored through secondary school (in the international aid 'sponsor a child' sense). They meet again when Xiao Fengqian is eighteen years old and has been admitted to a prestigious university. Pre-orders can be made via the following bookshops (I've only listed the ones that have commissioned their own exclusive merch):
The web version of the novel can be read here on JJWXC.
Seeking the Light features a romance between a pop idol and an opera singer (as far as I can tell, the novel doesn't have any obvious parallels with the historical Salieri-Mozart rivalry, beyond using their names to denote, well, professional rivalry).
